Erin Thursby of
Entertaining U Jacksonville
writes,
"the plot sounds too silly to work, but on
film it
does work, backed up with a damn good jazz
score and filmmaking that concentrates on the
details...Barry's cinematic approach also zeroes in
on the interesting characters you find in and around
Jacksonville. I can tell that Barry loves this city and
that he watches the people in it."

Richard David Smith III of Folio Weekly writes,
"Director Barry squeezes all he can out of his Super
16-mm, creating a setting that looks like it came
straight out of a Humphrey Bogart movie - with
hints of an early Twilight Zone."
